Introducing our Raw Carbon Fiber S55 Charge Pipes. We've invested months of intensive R&D in development and testing to bring you OEM replacement charging lines that leave no room for compromise. INSTALLATION - POWER QUALITY - STRENGTH are the 3 most important design criteria we wanted to meet.
1) FITMENT: A common problem with aftermarket charge pipes is poor fitment due to the nature in which they are constructed using bent metal tubing. Clearances with the hood and other aftermarket intake systems can be a problem. Our solution using carbon allows us to use complex geometry to provide an OEM-like fitment while maintaining optimal flow.
2) POWER QUALITY: Our design uses smooth curve transitions from the turbo exhausts to the charge cooler. In addition, we have also increased the internal volume compared to the OEM version to allow the turbos to operate with fewer restrictions. Importantly, our machined flange attachment to the turbo exhaust maintains a constant diameter at the charge pipes without and exposed edges that can cause turbulence. This is an improvement over aftermarket metal charging pipes that often have welds between the flange and the pipes.
3) STRENGTH: The final criterion was to increase the structural strength of the loading pipes compared to the OEM versions. It is becoming increasingly common for OEM charge pipes to fail, especially on tuned cars with higher boost levels. Using a multi-layer cross-directional carbon weave to form a 2mm wall thickness, our charge pipes provide an incredibly strong solution for reliable operation, even with larger turbos. Furthermore, we have embedded CNC-machined stainless steel rings into the openings where the clamps are tightened to ensure that the tubes retain their shape even under high clamping forces.
To increase the structural reliability of the carbon loading pipes, we have not added methanol ports to them. Instead, we are developing a separate J-pipe that will contain multiple methanol ports. Having these ports in the J-pipe is also a more convenient location for additional cooling, as it is located directly in front of the intake manifold.
